To extend the existing West Coast main line rail siding into a new rail terminal, including a substantial rail connected warehouse facility.
To build a new link road providing road access between the Port and the regional motorway network, and diverting HGV traffic from local residential areas.
To improve the navigable access between the dock and the Manchester Ship Canal in order to accommodate shortsea and coastal shipping.
